prenatal development and birth
it's so very fascinating on how our genes can determine who we are and how are personality comes to be. I really found it very interesting that low serotonin levels actually made the kid have a more calm personality. whereas the higher serotonin levels produced an elevated heart rate and had more of an angry personality. Through our development and our parents guiding hands we can turn out who we want to be. Our chromosomes is where the disorders arise because there is at least one chromosome that is damaged or destroyed and if that is the dominant allele then the child will get that allele. This is what produces diseases like down's syndrome or any of the chromosomal disorders. These kinds of things are very fascinating. It made me think that if I would of had an extra chromosome or some kind of birth defect in my genes that I would of ended up with a serious mental disorder it's very fascinating how our genes control everything about us.

I also find it interesting that something that seems simple, like an extra chromosome, can lead to something so serious. When you think about all of the things that have to fall into place correctly for nature to work, it really is amazing that so many living things are on the planet. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt is fascinating how chromosome can be damaged or extra ones added. I also found it intresting that down syndrome comes from the mothers side. It makes me wonder why and I hope that we get learn more about it.
